    • Overview

    Responsible for preparation and proper storage of all food items used to provide nutritious snacks and meals for children attending the centers. Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen area including refrigerators, ovens, cabinets and other equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains and documents hot and cold food at recommended temperatures.
    • Ensures that food is properly stored.
    • Requisition supplies and helps with necessary preparation for children’s activities.
    • Suggests possible activities involving food.
    • Attends staff meetings to obtain information about special dietary needs of any enrolled child.
    • Adjusts menus or prepares special meals to meet dietary needs, as directed by EC Manager in coordination with Nutrition Manager.

     

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • One year experience in food serving.
    • Food Handler training upon initial assignment.
    • Ability to adapt to interruptions while working.
