  • Overview

    Supervises and mentors assigned Family Educators, Family Advocates or Classroom Staff  as applicable for location. Assigned to any Center that serves more than 68 children.   Assists with center enrollment to assure full enrollment.  CAET for assigned caseloads or classrooms.  Works with Transportation Manager to coordinate bus routes and bus maintenance if applicable for location.  Supervises a home based program that has children enrolled in either home based or community partnership services if applicable for location.  Provides Reflective Supervision with supervisees. Must have a license for directorship of a center with KDHE for up to 100 children.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in the creation of supportive social and emotional climate which provides an environment of acceptance which helps each child build ethics pride, develop a positive self-concept, enhance individual strengths and develop social relationships.
    • Monitors classroom materials and furniture for developmental appropriateness ensuring materials are culturally and gender exclusive.
    • Assists with center enrollment to ensure full enrollment.
    • Works with staff to ensure that families are informed of the philosophy of classroom curriculum.
    • Provides assistance/mentoring for staff home visit and socialization.
    • Provides Reflective Supervision with supervisees.
    • Substitutes in socialization as needed.
    • Assists in smooth transition of children and their families into programs.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S) or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family Development or related field, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood.
    • Requires one to two years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds for various classroom and event needs or put a child on a changing table.
