  • Overview

    Provide mentor coaching, new employee training, and overall support to child development staff for Teaching Strategies GOLD and Child Plus. Ensure that teaching staff are getting the direction needed to be successful in the assigned curriculum software and the entering of data. Prepares GOLD and Child Plus reports and recommendations for further training or software issues.

    Assists IT Manager to provide effective and efficient management of Child Plus, Teaching Strategies GOLD and Head Start data management systems; provide technical support on Child Plus, Teaching Strategies Gold and other Head Start reporting systems. Assists and provides required computer training for staff; participates in clerical functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in the provision of efficient operation and maintenance of Child Plus, Teaching Strategies GOLD program and Head Start 0-5 Program reporting systems.
    • Train and mentor on GOLD and Child Plus.
    • Provides technical assistance to staff for data entry, retrieval and operation.
    • Create an environment that supports problem solving and decision-making by staff.
    • Ensure fidelity to developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment models Teaching Strategies Gold, and Child Plus.
    • Assist staff with proper data entry of assessments and curriculum.
    • Provide written documentation of all observations to site managers, Assistant Director of Early Childhood and Assistant Director Quality Assurance. Maintain documentation of all services provided and reports submitted.
    • Provide leadership and direction to early childhood teachers.
    • Assists IT Manager with data analysis and monitoring.
    • Serves as a resource for trouble shooting computer software.
    • Assists in producing data reports.
    • Assists in monitoring data.
    • Monitors and inputs PIR data.
    • Assists with data reports for the Office of Head Start.
    • Implement support for staff development, monitor progress toward staff goals.
    • Provides coaching and technical assistance/ mentoring for staff utilizing Child Plus, GOLD and CLASS.
    • Train new teaching staff and maintain support.
    • Coach staff in proper delivery of data entry.
    • Conduct small group training as needed.
    • Attends staff meetings, in-service and other trainings as required.
    • Run reports based on TS GOLD data to support teachers in developing appropriate teaching techniques.
    • Analyze data and recommend instructional strategies to enhance the teacher’s performance.

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree (A.A.) in Computer Science Education preferred or related field and/or specialized training or certification.
    • Three to five experience with statistical data collection.  
    • Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
    • Requires moderate interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met.
